Back to work safely

“For three years I did the same job in a production plant and everything went well. I had a steady paycheque and enough energy at the end of the day to play with my kids and enjoy my twice-weekly runs.

Then I started to feel so much pain in my shoulders …first one and then the other …that I could barely pick up my toddler when she ran to me. I didn’t know what was going on. My full life was suddenly just full of pain.

A friend of mine suggested I see the physiotherapists at IMPACT Health. He said that they had helped him and were very thorough in getting to the root of the problem. I didn’t even have a doctor’s referral at that point (although I did get a prescription for physiotherapy later). I just walked in and asked if they had any idea what had gone wrong.

With their help and thoroughness of their assessment, they discovered that one recent small change in my work station on the assembly line was throwing my body out of line a bit and causing extra stress on my shoulders.

Working with the Worker’s Compensation Board, they prescribed physiotherapy and got rid of the pain within two sessions. Then I worked to regain strength and they helped me make a graduated return to work to avoid injuring myself again.

They made a recommendation about the height of a certain procedure and my company followed it and not only do I feel better, but the problem has been solved for myself and others.

I would highly recommend this company if you run into a workplace injury. Their professionalism, their ability to work easily with WCB to find a solution, and their high-tech treatments that got me feeling better quickly were more than I could have anticipated.”

Painful Pelvic Floor Issue Solved

“After the birth of my second child, I tried to get right back to caring for two kids and an at-home writing business, but my days ended up just being full of pain.

I had no idea what was going on. My doctor suggested I see a physiotherapist and I went reluctantly, not at all convinced that they could help me.

I was referred to IMPACT Health. It was the best thing that could have happened. In no time they had identified a pelvic floor issue that was the source of my pain, and through therapy and exercise, they had me back on my feet within a few days, although I stayed with them longer than that to heal completely and go back periodically to maintain my program.

They were so professional and they took my pain seriously and were extremely thorough in determining what was going wrong. I highly recommend them and I felt very comfortable working with them in the clinic environment.”

Back in the game

“Baseball season wasn’t on for two weeks when a slide into third base left me with a badly bruised arm and sprained elbow. To say the pain was excruciating would be an understatement.

My coach suggested I go see the team at IMPACT Health and it was great advice.

Within one session, I had been thoroughly assessed and a treatment plan designed specifically to meet my needs was adapted. They used laser to reduce inflammation and pain and I felt better instantly. I had exercises to do so I could help myself between visits.

What I really liked in addition to the effectiveness of the physiotherapy was that they took the time to know what my goals were and help me get back to the season without a long delay.

They are one amazing team! If you hurt, go see them would be my advice.
